Buddy System

Settling into a new city can feel overwhelming, but you are not alone. Our Buddy System connects incoming international students with friendly local students in Luzern. It makes your transition smoother, more fun, and a lot less stressful.

The local buddy that is assigned to you is there to help you find your feet in Luzern and help you feel at home. You can ask them about daily life, studies, or simply where to get the best coffee, you can also connect with someone who already knows the city and the campus to get personalised tips on public transport, shops, and important places for your first weeks in the city. It is also possible to share your own culture and learn about Swiss life in a relaxed and friendly way.

As a local student, you can make a real difference in someone’s first impression of Luzern. At the same time, you gain new perspectives and friendships from all over the world. Share your city, show hidden gems, favourite cafés, and the best spots around the lake. Furthermore you can practise languages, strengthen your intercultural skills, and gain experience that looks great on a CV. And finally involve yourself in ESN events with your buddy and become part of an international student network in Luzern.
